Your privacy, explained plainly.

LemonPI (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates lemonpi.com and the LemonPI browser extension. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and your rights over that data.

We are committed to data minimisation — we collect only what is necessary to deliver the service, and we never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.

We may collect the following categories of information depending on how you use LemonPI:

• Product URLs you submit for analysis. These are processed to retrieve product data and generate your report. We do not associate submitted URLs with your identity unless you are signed in.
• Account data (optional). If you create an account, we store your email address, a user identifier, and any ESG preference settings you configure. No password is stored; authentication uses one-time codes sent to your email.
• Browser extension activity. If you use the LemonPI browser extension, the extension may read the URL of the product page you are currently viewing to trigger a scan. No browsing history outside of product scans is collected.
• Usage and analytics data. We may collect anonymised usage signals such as pages visited, scan counts, and error rates to improve the service. This data is not linked to your identity.

We use the information we collect to:

• Process product scan requests and generate price, quality, and ethics reports.
• Run AI-assisted analysis via third-party models (currently OpenAI and Google Gemini) to derive product insights.
• Deliver and improve the LemonPI service.
• Communicate with you about your account if you are registered (e.g. verification codes, service notices).
• Diagnose technical issues and prevent misuse.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling for commercial purposes, or any purpose not listed here.

LemonPI integrates with third-party data sources to generate reports. When you scan a product, relevant data may be sent to or fetched from:

• OpenAI and Google Gemini — AI analysis of product information.
• WikiRate — ESG and corporate behaviour data.
• Trustpilot — merchant reputation and review data.

These services are used solely to generate the report you requested. We do not share your personal data with these services beyond what is technically necessary (for example, a product URL or brand name). We never sell your personal data to any third party, and we do not share it for advertising purposes.

We retain scan results for a limited period to allow you to revisit your report via a direct link. If you have an account, your profile and preference data is retained until you delete your account. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing contact@lemonpi.com.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Request a portable copy of your data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

LemonPI does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We may use technically necessary cookies or browser local storage to maintain your session if you are signed in. The browser extension uses local storage solely to store your scan preferences on your device.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. All data in transit is encrypted using TLS. However, no internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
